Why English is hard to speak

Most English learners can read and write far better than they can speak, because reading and writing are the only things they practise alone. Speaking needs a person, and people are expensive, scheduled, and mildly embarrassing to be bad in front of. That gap is why someone with excellent grammar can freeze in a job interview or stay silent in a meeting.
