Verbal Flashcards

Everything Step 1 asks, plus OMM.

Osteopathic principles drilled alongside the standard content.

OMM is the part that gets deprioritized and then appears on the exam.

What Vera actually is

A phone call with someone who is not there. You say the thing out loud, they answer the way a real person would, and you get to do it again — as many times as it takes, with nobody listening.

1She calls youA real phone call, about ten seconds after you tap. Lock screen, headphones, car — wherever you take calls.
2She plays the other personNot a coach reading tips. COMLEX Level 1 Verbal Review, with someone on the other end who answers back.
3She pushes when you are vagueFollow-up questions, interruptions when you ramble, and a straight read at the end on what landed.

“What if I am bad at it?”Everyone is, on the first one. That is the entire reason it happens here and not there.
“What if I do not know what to say?”She asks first and follows up on whatever you answer. You never start from a blank page.
“What if it is awkward?”It is, for about twenty seconds. Then it is a conversation, and nobody heard the twenty seconds.

Not practising doesn’t save you anything.

The ticket, the evening, the weeks of applying — all of it is spent before anyone says a word. The practice is the only cheap part, and the only part that changes how the rest goes.

What she'll actually ask

She asks these the way a real person would, then follows up on whatever you say.

  1. Name this somatic dysfunction from the findings.
  2. Which treatment would you choose, and why that one?
  3. What is the contraindication here?
  4. Walk me through the mechanism behind this presentation.
  5. What OMM concept have you been avoiding?
More about this one

COMLEX candidates carry the standard preclinical load plus osteopathic principles, and OMM is reliably the material that gets pushed to later and then never studied properly. It is also well suited to verbal drilling, since much of it is structured recall — somatic dysfunction naming, treatment selection, and the reasoning behind them. Vera drills OMM alongside the shared content so it stops being the neglected section.

What she listens for

OMM avoidanceThe topic never chosen is the one that shows up.
Naming precisionSomatic dysfunction naming is exact and unforgiving.
Contraindication recallFrequently tested and frequently the last thing learned.

Common questions

Does it cover both COMLEX and Step?

Yes. Many students drill shared content and add OMM sessions on top.

Is it reliable on OMM specifics?

Use it for recall practice and verify details against your course materials.

When should I start OMM review?

Earlier than feels necessary, because it is the material most likely to be deferred indefinitely.
